far...
February 4th 2012 -
Update
A trip to the local
Ford dealer was not very productive as they couldnt find the
bellhousing bolt on the parts system so they will be talking to Ford
Europe to get hold of one. We're still tempted to just get one
from a breakers yard along with the radiator support. Also the
dealer did not have the awkward size auxilliary belt in stock or
even the manifold studs!
We've pressed on with
other things in the meantime and reconnected the gear selector and
stabiliser bar, numerous pipes and connectors and the driveshaft and
hub on one side while replacing a roll bar drop link. The track rod
end on that side needs some attention from a hammer as it's probably
still original.

Tin Top Regs are published
We have a dilemma!
Whether to enter the BARC SEC Cannons Motor Spares Tin Tops in the
new production class or stay in T4. The new class is almost
perfect for us but to be eligible we need to be a minimum weight of
1050Kg which is about 120Kg more than we currently are. This
would make us slower and fitting that amount of weight to the car is
a challenge in itself!
If we stay in T4 we
wont be that competitive at the start of the season still but we
have more freedom to modify the car during the year which we we're
planning to do anyway.
January 31st 2012 -
Update
Engine and gearbox
assembly now back in car on its mounts. Now the task of
finding replacement bits for the broken exhaust studs, bellhousing
bolt, radiator support. Replace the auxilliary drive belt and
gearbox oil as well as an engine oil service.

BARC SEC Awards Evening
We attended the
awards evening not expecting to win anything since we had not
finished in a podium place in the series and had already won Best
Prepared Car the previous year.
However we were
delighted to be awarded Best Prepared Car 2011, Cannons Tin Tops
supporters prizes, and Hardest Trier prize sponsored by
Redline Tuning.
